Committee
Changes
Richard
Bridgen has taken over from Maria Grant as Chair of IFMH, and Susan
Mottram has retired from being IFMH’s Study Day Co-ordinator. On
behalf of the committee, I would like to extend a tremendous vote of
thanks to Maria and Susan for the many years of dedicated service they
have given to their respective roles. Maria and Susan will both remain
on the committee, Maria as the person responsible for digitising our
archive and Susan as a member.
I am also
pleased to welcome Dr Alan Lovell to the committee. Alan, who works
as an Information Specialist with Bazian, is currently shadowing the
editors of INFORM, with a view to his taking over from Richard as
joint-editor.
HLG Conference
IFMH will have
a stand at the HLG Conference, 21-22nd July in Cardiff, and
will host a session,
Changing
rooms: designing an Information and Library Service.
Ray
Philips and Valerie Wildridge (Information and Library Service, King's
Fund) will outline how they have managed the move of their library
service to a smaller location and increase their electronic presence.
For more information on the session, visit the study day pages on the
IFMH website:

Study Day – January 24th
Our most recent study day, Success in
Project Management’ jointly organised with the HLG and Libraries for
Nursing was a great success. Presentations from the day are available
to download at
http://www.ifmh.org.uk/studyday0108.html.
Comments from
participants included: “Very useful to find out about issues others
have with project management” and “very good quality of speakers. Time
went very quickly; all interesting.”
