See It Right!

To take account of legibility issues future editions of IFMH Inform, from 18 (1) will produced in line with the Royal National Institute for the Blind See it Right guidelines.  In practical terms this will mean IFMH Inform adopting a 12 point font and left hand justifications.  Further details of the See it Right guidelines on designing and producing accessible information can be found at:

http://www.rnib.co.uk/xpedio/groups/public/documents/publicWebsite/public_seeitright.hcsp.

IFMH Inform Profile Raised To New Heights

In 2006 the content of IFMH Inform was indexed in key bibliographic databases, including the Kings Fund database, for the first time.  To coincide with the associated rise in accessibility and awareness of IFMH Inform content, www.123doc.com has reprinted (with permission) a copy of Annette Thains article entitled MKNs go from strength to strength in Scotland.  The article, originally published in the Winter 2005/6 issue of IFMH Inform (vol 16 no 3), can be accessed in full at http://www.123doc.com/newsletter_mkn.php.

Following her appointment as Acting Head of the Kings Fund Library, Valerie Wildridge has reluctantly stepped down from the IFMH Committee.  IFMH wish to thank Valerie for her valued contribution to the activities of the IFMH Committee, with particular acknowledgment to the development of a publicity and communication strategy during her tenure as IFMH Publicity Coordinator.

IFMH is pleased to be able to maintain its links with the Kings Fund with the appointment of Caron Hartley, Research Librarian, as a member of the IFMH Committee.  Many of you will already be familiar with Caron’s work for IFMH Informs regular column Surfs Up.
