CHANGING LIBRARIANS

Wil Williams, Principal Lecturer Division of Supply Chain and Strategic Management, University of Glamorgan Business School

ABSTRACT: This paper gives an overview of the management of change. It draws upon established management tools and frameworks to highlight key issues in bringing about organisational transformations.

The work considers factors such as vision, mission, stakeholders, the content, context and process of change. Generic management frameworks are presented that allow managers to gain a better understanding

of the complexity of change. Lessons from the paper can be applied across a range of sectors, but are particularly pertinent in the management of data, information and knowledge. The work concludes with some practical advice for managers who are tasked with bringing about change in organisations.
